Phase II
In this phase I will be working with four other budgies that came to me during and after Victor died. They are Betty (who learned from Victor) Toovic, Topper and Amber. I will be exploring how budgies can learn to use conversational laguage from other budgies, how they develop in a flock type setting and what motivates them to learn our language.
Webmaster's Note
The audio recordings on this site are far more difficult to understand than Victor's recordings. Never-the-less they are talking in context but are just not as clear as Victor. Some people have no problem understanding them whereas others cannot no matter how hard they try. It is much more difficult for a budgie to speak than learn our language. Especially if there is more than one budgie. Their natural intsinct is to chirp the word out as it is not easy to duplicate our vocal patterns.
